Creating New Dispatch Calls

This article recaps different methods of call creation, and which method to use in different circumstances.

Using the Create Button

There are several ways to create new Dispatch Calls. Depending on how much information is required for entry, some methods are better than others. Typically the most efficient and streamlined call creation method is to use the Create Buttons available in either the Dispatch Call Queue or Calendar screens. 

After using the Create Button, users can easily enter many of the most important details for a new call, all in one screen. More patient-related details can be entered by clicking "Show Additional Details". This is recommended for creating new calls due to how easy it is, especially for new users of AIM Dispatch. This screen also offers the ability to carry last trip, making it not only the most efficient method but also providing the best functionality of the other call creation methods. Other methods provide the ability to enter more information at the cost of taking additional time. 

Dispatch Portal

The Dispatch Portal contains a Create Call section which will allow users to create Dispatch Calls. First, select a Profile, then conduct a patient lookup to verify if the patient already has an account or not. If results are found, select them from the dropdown. Users can Carry Last Trip to automatically pull data from the previous call with that patient, if any data is configured to carry last trip for the selected profile in Field Configuration Setup. If no results are found, the Create Button under "New Patient" can be selected to create a new account for the patient. 

Creating a call this way will open the call automatically to the full data entry screens, allowing users to enter a lot of data when necessary. Some profiles can be configured to open directly to the Quick Intake Page if configured for the selected profile in Profiles Setup. While this is a little quicker, it is still not as efficient as using the Create Call Button.
