Patient Account Summary (Account Number) Report

The Patient Account Summary report provides a comprehensive transaction history for patient accounts, showing all billing activities, payments, adjustments, and current balances.

Transaction Data

Transactions are organized by bill number and displayed chronologically. Each individual bill shows:

  • Date: When the transaction occurred
  • Transaction Type: Two-letter code identifying the activity type
  • Description: What happened (billing, payment, adjustment, etc.)
  • Amount: Dollar amount charged or credited
  • Balance: Account balance after the transaction

Key Information

  • Multiple Bills: Each account may have several bill numbers with separate transaction histories
  • Running Balance: The balance column shows cumulative totals after each transaction
  • Total Balance: Summary of all outstanding amounts across all bills appears at the report end

Purpose

This report provides a complete audit trail for account management, payment tracking, and balance verification.

Users can quickly run this report by selecting the ellipsis (More Options) icon on the top menu bar of the Billing or Accounts/Sub modules and selecting "Patient Account Summary".
