This section documents laboratory and imaging study results obtained during the EMS event. 

Lab Results

Date - Optional (eLabs.01)

  • The date/time when the laboratory or imaging results were obtained

Results Prior to EMS Care - Optional (eLabs.02)

  • Indicates whether the laboratory result occurred before this EMS unit's care
  • Options: No, Yes

Lab Results - Optional

  • Click to add laboratory test results
  • Multiple lab results can be documented
  • Each result includes:
    • Laboratory Result Type (eLabs.03) - Select the type of test performed
    • Laboratory Result (eLabs.04) - Enter the value or result (1-50 characters)

Liver Function Tests:

Lab Image Results

Imaging Study Type - Optional (eLabs.05)

  • The type of x-ray or imaging study performed
  • Options:
    • Angiograph
    • CAT Scan
    • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
    • Other
    • Ultrasound
    • X-ray

Imaging Study Results - Optional (eLabs.06)

  • The description or interpretation of the imaging study results
  • Free text field (3-5000 characters)

Imaging Study File - Optional (eLabs.07, eLabs.08)

  • Description of the image study file or waveform graphic stored
  • Allows attachment of the actual imaging study file

Usage Notes

  • Laboratory and imaging results are typically obtained from:
    • Hospital emergency departments
    • Advanced diagnostic devices carried by EMS units
    • Point-of-care testing devices
    • Receiving facility reports
  • Multiple laboratory results can be documented for a single event
  • The "Results Prior to EMS Care" field helps distinguish between:
    • Tests performed before EMS arrival (obtained from patient records, family, or facility staff)
    • Tests performed during EMS care
