Patient Care Setup: Review Workflow Setup

Review Workflow Setup allows for Quality Assurance managers to set up custom criteria for PCRs to be flagged for review.

Patient Care Setup's Review Workflow Setup is an alternative to conducting a Quality Assurance (QA) process on every patient care report. Review Workflow Setup's Fields dropdown allows you to select certain data points to potentially qualify that patient care report for a QA Review.

Note: In order to effectively use Review Workflow Setup, first the QA Process must be enabled under Patient Care Setup > Configuration Switches Setup.

Review Workflow Setup has a Fields Dropdown, and a Refresh button. To create a new Review Workflow Setup record, first select the Field which you would like to create review criteria for. You must use the Refresh button any time you change the Fields dropdown.

Use the Green Plus Button to create a new Review Workflow record in the appropriate Fields category. When you use the Green Plus Button, a new section titled the Review Information section will appear. You must complete both fields in this section and save for this Review Workflow record to become active:

  1. Value: Select the value of the field for which you'd like to flag patient care reports for a review. This means that if you have selected, for example, the 'Type of Service Requested' in the Fields Dropdown, and then select the '911 Response' for the Value, then patient care reports with a Type of Service Requested of '911 Response' will potentially be flagged for a QA Review once complete, depending on the Frequency entered.
  2. Frequency: Enter a number to determine how often patient care reports meeting these criteria will be sent for QA Review:

    '0': Every report (100%)
    '1': Every other report (50%)
    '2': Every third report (33%)
    '3': Every fourth report (25%)
    And so on...

Setting a very high frequency i.e. '10', depending on the criteria, can even create a semi-random process of sending PCRs into a QA Review status if desired. Otherwise, the lowest frequencies of '0' or '1' can result in allowing for Quality Assurance managers to flag patient care reports based on specific criteria, such as with narcotic administration, certain profiles, certain locations, certain incident flags, and more.
