Rate Comparison Report
The Rate Comparison Report provides billable rate analysis using data from AIM customers in your region, state, and/or zip code.
The Rate Comparison Report provides data on the billable rates other AIM System customers are charging and compares that to the billable rates that your agency charges for services. This report is meant to help provide a cost basis for these services, allowing for an agency to determine if they are charging a competitive rate for services.
To run the Rate Comparison report, simply head to the AIM Intelligence Reports Category.

The Rate Comparison Report works best with broader search criteria, as it requires data from multiple customers in each geographic area. Consider starting with default parameters before narrowing your search.
Year: Please enter the Year that the report should query. The current year will automatically default. Select a new year from any of the previous 5 years to continue.
Region: A regional comparison can be viewed on the report output. By default, the report compares all regions - however, it is recommended to select a specific region from Midwest, Northeast, Southeast, Southwest, or West from the dropdown. These regions reflect those specific sectors of the US. Selections made from the Region dropdown control the comparisons made on the Regional Rate Comparison Table.
State: A state comparison can be viewed on the report output as well. All states will be compared on the report output by default, though it is recommended to select the agency's state from this dropdown in order to see comparisons to agencies in that state. Selections made from the State dropdown control the comparisons made on the State Rate Comparison Table.
Zip Code: The Rate Comparison Report can even compare rates to agencies within a specific zip code. Leave this field blank to compare all zip codes, or alternatively enter a 5-digit zip code to compare rates only for that specific zip code. Zip Code selections control comparisons made on the Zip Code Rate Comparison Table.

Please be advised that users will see a disclaimer at the top of the report when it is ran. While this report offers valuable insights for rate comparisons, the analysis is based on billing data available at the time of generation. Although we strive for accuracy, rates and circumstances may vary or change. We encourage users to verify current information and perform their own due diligence when making decisions based on this data. This report is provided as a comparative tool, and AIM EMS Software & Services, Inc. is not responsible for decisions made using this information.
The output of the report is split into three tables. One table compares rates at the Regional level, the other table compares rates at the State level, and the last table compares rates at the Zip Code level. Each table's comparisons are configured depending on what was selected for the corresponding filter in the search criteria. The report will also note the number of agencies compared for each table.
Rates are organized by the Procedure Code used to bill those rates. Next to the Procedure Code column, users can find the description of that Procedure Code.

The next columns (in blue, shown above) contain the statistical data that the report found from other customers in the selected Region(s) / State(s) / or Zip Code(s). The minimum amount charged for a given procedure code is found within the Min column. The maximum amount charged for a given procedure code is found within the Max column. Between those, the average of all charges for that particular procedure code will be found in the Avg column.
The prices reported in the Min Avg and Max columns only reflect what was billed to the primary payer on a bill.
The last columns on the report reflect your agency's Min/Avg/Max charges for that particular Procedure Code. This will help provide an indication on your rates for the given year, versus what other agencies charged.
Rates can be updated in Billable Items/Procedure Codes Setup. Changing rates' prices will not adversely affect claims already billed using those rates at the previous prices.
