Split/Merge an Account

This utility moves bills from one account to another.

This utility moves bill numbers between accounts, and should be used when a bill is entered for the wrong account.

Before using this utility, the account numbers involved (both the incorrect and the correct) must be known. However, if a new account is to be created, only the wrong account number is necessary.

Select the Utilities icon on the top right of the menu bar.

Within the Data Maintenance window, select the option: Split/Merge Account.

Enter all requested information to complete the process.

  1. Select the Agency (if applicable).
  2. Enter the Account Number to move the bills from.
  3. Select Next.
  4. Select the bills to move to the new Account.
  5. Select Next.
  6. Select the correct Action (if you need to create a New Account or use an Existing Account).
    1. If using an Existing Account, you must know the Account Number
    2. Enter the Account Number, select Find Members and select the correct Account Member from the drop-down.
  7. Click Run.
  8. A prompt confirms the bill number and what Account they were moved to.

This Utility does not remove an account number. If the bill numbers were in an account that should be removed, go to that account number in the Accounts Module and delete it. (No bill numbers can be on an account to be deleted.)
